This research aims to investigate the influence of social media use on academic ethical practices among students and academics. Social media has become an integral part of everyday life, providing a platform for interacting, sharing information and networking. However, the impact of social media use on academic ethics is still not fully understood. This study uses a literature review method to collect and analyze findings from relevant and recent research on this topic. The primary focus is on how social media use can influence behaviors such as plagiarism, cheating, and academic trust. The analysis also includes positive influences such as academic collaboration and greater information accessibility. The research results highlight the complexity of the relationship between social media and academic ethics, emphasizing the need for institutional discretion in managing social media use in academic settings. Practical implications include recommendations for the establishment of policies that promote responsible use of social media and avoid potentially harmful misuse. It is hoped that this research will provide deeper insight into how social media influences today's academic culture and provide a foundation for further research in developing more effective strategies for promoting academic ethics in this digital era.
