Abstrak

This research originated from the assumption that only students who have high IQ (intellectual fitness) can successfully achieve good enough learning outcomes, but in fact despite this, some students manage to achieve fairly good learning outcomes while having relatively poor intellectual capacity. As a result, it is proven that a person's performance is influenced by various things, not only his level of intelligence. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through interviews and looking for references from relevant previous books and journals. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Deli Tua. The results showed that the role of Islamic education teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Deli Tua plays a role in providing encouragement or motivation to students, both in the learning process and outside the learning process in order to create students who are able to control their emotions to become students who are students who Able to control their emotions in order to become students who have emotional intelligence.
